Publisher's summary

Escaping from an angry drone graveyard with the help and sacrifice of one of her own kind, Alex finds herself in a fringe system populated by mankind, a species that would fear and hate her if they knew the truth.

Still, she cant wait to see the new sights and make more friends! She just has to be a little subtle about it... And maybe trade in some anti-matter nuclear warheads.

But faking it until you make it can lead to unforeseen consequences, and when those involve dropping megatons of munitions on a perhaps misunderstood alien species, the stakes can be raised even higher.

When placed as the only thing between a people about to be annihilated, can Alex turn away? Her choice might leave her with consequences she never dared imagine.

War is good for Business. Business depends on Diplomacy. Diplomacy warrants... Cakes and Kebabs?

Erios is a huge jerk.

This was an amazing continuation of the series. The narration of the book is on point and really makes every scene pop. A lot of new characters joined the cast, and they all had very fun development arcs. The interaction between the characters and the expansion of the lore really keeps you stuck in the story and wanting to learn more. The introduction of litRPG elements was subtle and well done in a unique way. It kept the feel of a good sci-fi novel while introducing a new element of measured growth and progression. The epic battles you expect in a space opera were very vivid and immersive. The stakes only get higher as the story progresses, and just like in the first book, when Alex and crew come up against a tough challenge, there is never a guarantee which way the battles will go. The dramatic ending does a fantastic job of punching you right in the gut, made worse when you find out the next book isn't out yet - but it's worth every moment of that pain.

More complicated space opera than the cover art implies.

Well done charechters and story arc, with some non stanaldard twist, and multple set up for alterante branches

started out fine...

...but then progressively retconed details that supposedly happened off screen to hamfistedly guide the plot to a unsatisfying and unrealistic ending. for a super ai who preaches efficiency to NOT prioritize information and memory recovery of some kind, just for the author to drop plot bombs with the excuse that the ai couldn't of seen it coming because of poor memory. no... just no.

Boring, hard to stay interested.

Had an especially hard time maintaining attention. Often scenes are left with many open questions. The addition of the relationship crap means that I won't even give the series another glance.

Disappointed with the direction

Was looking forward to seeing Elis and Alex relationship grow, but that led to that. Seriously what a disappointment.
