Publisher's summary

Moving with my three best friends and our seven kids into a dilapidated brownstone in Boston may have seemed like the most insane thing I’d do this year. Apparently the universe said hold my beer.

Because last night I got drunk and married my boss.

Don’t worry, it’s all fake. Or at least everything after 'I Do' will be.

Beckett Langfield is grumpy, rich and hates kids. I’m an overworked, overstressed, and overweight single mom. The only reason we’re getting married is because he needs to fix a PR disaster and I am available. As in sitting next to him, in a bar, when he has this brilliant idea.

Considering I just got divorced, I’m not looking to do that again. But Beckett makes me an offer that I literally can’t refuse, so I don’t.

He’ll help fix up our broken house and all I have to do is take a few pictures and pretend we’re happily married.

Easy peasy.

Now if someone could just remind him that it’s all fake.

Authors Note: Mother Faker is book one of the Momcoms Series and features an accidental marriage between a billionaire grump and a plus size single mom who happens to work for him where there is only one bed, tons of laughs, a lot of ducks, and it's always been you vibes.

Did not disappoint

This was my first Brittanee Nicole read, and my only complaint is that she has a backlist that I am now compelled to read.
Beckett Langfield is all kinds of swoony bosshole, & he’s absolutely perfect! As the owner of a Major League Baseball team, a member of the powerhouse Langfield family, & a staunch bachelor, he’s accustomed to a certain kind of life. A life of solitude & the ability to gain the eye of any woman he desires. Well, except for maybe one.
Olivia is the head of the PR department of the same baseball team, but it appears that Beckett views her more as his personal assistant. She’s overworked, undervalued, & on her last leg of sanity. She’s in desperate need of her annual girls weekend to get a little bit of a mental, emotional, & social reboot. But when her ‘no boundaries’ boss demands her assistance, her girls trip is rerouted to his vacation island in the Florida Keys.
Now Beckett is in desperate need of a PR overhaul when he is dubbed as the “kid hater” when he turns down access to St Jude. He needs a relationship with a single mom, stat…and who better than his gorgeous, curvaceous, newly single PR director. As these two navigate this new aspect of their relationship, I loved watching Beckett completely transform. Seeing him not only with Liv’s kids, but all of the kids was just so sweet & swoony…and hilarious. I found myself cackling more than once at the insane antics within their household.
This couple was a perfect intro into the Mom Com world, and I can’t wait to see some of these others fall.

Audiobook Review:
Maxine Mitchell & Joe Arden both nailed this narration. I absolutely adored their ability to be so diverse in their voice acting to distinguish so well between so many side characters. With 12 people living in one house, it can get confusing.

Still laughing 😂

All of it was a hit with me. The storyline, the narration…everything worked together. There were parts where I laughed so hard I was in danger of peeing my pants 🤣. This a definite re-listen, or as Prue from The British Baking Show says “It’s worth the calories “

Couldn't Ducking Get Enough!!

I couldn’t ducking get enough of this book! I couldn't put it down for a second. It's the perfect MomCom! Hilarity ensues with 4 moms, 7 kids, and one grumpy billionaire all under one roof.

Mother Faker is book one of Mom Coms, an interconnected standalone series. Each book is by a different author.

Maxine and Joe absolutely knocked this book out of the park! I absolutely love this dynamic duo!

I need a movie STAT

Oh my goodness!!! I have never giggled, blushed, laughed, and swooned over a book so hard before! Liv and Beckett are perfect and the storyline was chefs kiss! The story has a slow burn but SO worth it with the perfect amount of spice 🌶️🥵 I need more. I hope there are more books about each of the other three moms.. even with Becketts brothers would be perfect 🤣 but seriously! As a new mom, I have never connected so much with a main character!

So ducking good!

I love the marriage of convenience trope, and this was no exception. First, this book was hilarious. There were so many funny moments. Beckett was so protective, possessive, jealous, and looooooved saying “my wife.” But he was also very sweet and paid so much attention to Liv. And despite his reputation for hating kids, he was so good with all of the kids (not only Liv’s kids). I mean, his nicknames? So cute for some and funny for others. But seriously, the way he was just so sweet with her kids – it was so cute (friendship bracelets).

This was such a great start to the series. I loved Beckett and Liv’s relationship, and I also loved the friendships between Liv, Dylan, Shay, and Delia. They’re all different, but they all love and support each other on everything.

Audio:
Narrators: Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell
Style: Duet

I liked this book when I first read it, but the way Maxine brought these characters to life made it even better. Maxine was perfect as Liv, and she managed to make her voice sound different for each of the moms (Liv’s friends) as well as the children. This also included a bonus epilogue, and it was about the first time Liv and Beckett met. It was cute, and I loved getting to hear about their meet cute. This was seriously so ducking good!

There is a huge empty void now

Okay, listen. This was not only my first duet narration book, but also my first Joe Arden. I am… wrecked. It was such a rush of dopamine.

I succumbed to TikTok and the scene where Joe Arden was playing Joe Arden - it reminded me of Colin Firth playing Colin Firth in a Bridget Jones extra. That’s all I knew and decided to try it. The storyline itself was slow - the prologue was over an hour and 12% of the book! I was about ready to give up when we the story started. It isn’t something new, I’d say, it has all the cheesy romcom elements packaged together. But the delivery and performance, ooh boy. Phenomenal doesn’t even begin to describe it. I recommend this on those merits alone.
